This is an application for Sonic Acts’ archive of lectures, interviews and festival reports. The structure is based on Conway’s Game of Life, meaning that the blocks will have certain rules applied to them, and thus activating and deactivating them when they come in contact with one another. This is convenient, because the video’s are distributed on the screen by their tags; the Game of Life allows the user to explore related videos, in a natural way, without forcing themselves upon the user. It keeps the archive alive as if it were an organism, since older videos regularly come to the surface again. Practical assignment for graduation BA Interaction Design, in collaboration with Erik de Graaff.
